Who I am

Ciao! I'm Giulia Sorrentino, an Italian and Sicilian language teacher and founder of the Casa Sicily project: a space for connection through language.

Born and raised in Marsala, the city of sea and wind, at the age of 19 I left Sicily for study and work.

My curiosity and passion for life have led me to explore different places, jobs, and experiences, meeting people from all over the world. Each experience has profoundly enriched me and shaped the person I am today.

For over six years, I've been teaching Italian and Sicilian to foreigners, both online and in person. But now I've decided to come back home and launch a new project that, through language, aims to create connections and bonds between people.

I firmly believe in the value of cultural exchange as a source of reflection and personal and collective growth. Language is the foundation for communication and connection, and while English allows us to stay connected across the world, local languages and cultures possess a wealth of values and knowledge that deserves to be discovered and experienced.

What we do

Casa Sicily isn't a traditional language school. It's a space for connection .

Here in Marsala, around a shared table, or during a stroll downtown, language becomes a way to truly immerse yourself in Sicily—not just to understand it, but to feel it, to live it.

Through Italian and Sicilian, we create moments of exchange, stories, and authentic encounters. Because the sense of belonging doesn't come simply from visiting a place, but from shared experiences.
